Greg Gazdowicz
Greg Gazdowicz(b. 1988) hails from the suburbs of Gaithersburg, Maryland. He escaped to study at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland. While studying graphic design there he found that he liked the idea of making typefaces that he would like to use in his own work as a graphic designer. After graduating, Greg decided to work in the field of graphic design first before becoming a typeface designer so as to gain more context to create new typefaces. He has worked as a graphic designer at branding studios, start-ups and non-profits before switching over to working only in the field of typeface design.
Prior to starting work at Commercial Type he completed the Type@Cooper Extended program in 2014 at Cooper Union under the tutelage of Jesse Ragan and Alexander Tochilovsky. While working at Commercial Type Greg has designed custom typefaces for clients ranging from brands, newspapers, magazine publications, and cultural institutions as well as designing typefaces for retail release.
