"Corporate Font: Branding With Type"
After a short introduction into the basics of the latin script, latin typefaces and their design classification, Jürgen Siebert examins the role of type in corporate and brand communication. Besides a corporate color and a graphical language type is the third main pillar for Corporate Design. Siebert demonstrates with some popular case studies (Mercedes Benz, Facebook, Nokia, Linde, …), how important the role of type in international global communication is today. But before a company choses a corporate font (family), the management and the involved designers had to check first the current and the future tasks of that type family. After that check they have 3 options: take a commercial typeface, modify a commercial typeface, or design an exclusive corporate typeface.
